Swimming technique, is one new technique worth $500…

I will only have one blog this weekend as I am teaching my monthly weekend workshop at the Ravinia Club in Atlanta. I do my Atlanta workshops on the second weekend of the month. The third weekend of the month I am in Charleston, SC or Mobile, AL.

One student told me that his choice of Total Immersion weekend workshops was determined by how nice the Ravinia Club looked on the web versus how the other pools looked or sounded. The Ravinia Club is a private, luxury club where there are plenty of towels to go with great surroundings. To view the Ravinia Club, just go to www.raviniaclub.com.

It is a small workshop so I have the benefit of knowing everyone on a first name basis and really understanding their individual strengths and the top three things they each need to do to improve their swimming.

I heard a remark today that I hear nearly every workshop. “It was worth $500 to learn that one thing” a student said during today’s workshop. It’s interesting how there are many, many, many changes that I can make to someone’s stroke yet there is often just one thing that makes a huge difference to that individual swimmer. In today’s situation, it came while we were swimming and working on breathing. Getting his breathing right was worth the entire cost of the workshop to him.

It’s very satisfying teaching a dozen new techniques over the weekend. It’s also very exciting to hear that just one technique makes all the difference in the world to one individual.

Hey Bill,

Still training for my tri in July in NYC and also signed up for a shorter distance tri in May here in KY. But I just wanted to say thanks again and it really was worth it.
